11J: One People was a special exhibition presented by the American Museum of the Cuban Diaspora from July to October 2025, commemorating the historic July 11, 2021 protests in Cuba, the largest civic uprising on the island in decades.
Through powerful symbolic pieces, including a Cuban flag signed in blood by dissidents, alongside audiovisual material, artwork, and documentary displays, the exhibition highlighted the courage of those who took to the streets demanding freedom, dignity, and basic human rights. It also honored prominent opposition figures and movements such as Maykel Osorbo, Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, José Daniel Ferrer, and the Damas de Blanco.
“11J: One People” provided historical context on the protests and their aftermath, shedding light on ongoing repression, political imprisonment, and the resilience of the Cuban people. The exhibition served as both a space of remembrance and a call for continued awareness and solidarity with those who remain imprisoned and under surveillance in Cuba.
